Windover is a member of the United States Green Building Council and is committed to conservation and sustainability in everything we do. The Windover Team is committed to building healthy living environments; implementing the most efficient use of materials and resources; and constructing energy efficient buildings with state of the art, fuel efficient, mechanical systems.

This starts at the very early stages of planning any project. From the moment our team is engaged, they will monitor all of the following:

  • Low impact site design
  • Proper solar orientation
  • Preservation of indigenous plants and trees
  • Use of sustainable building materials
  • Selecting the most fuel-efficient HVAC systems for the project
  • Monitoring HVAC system design and installation to ensure indoor air quality
  • Use of building materials with low Volatile Organic Compound emissions
  • Use of renewable energy systems such as solar, geothermal, wind, [etc] when practical
  • Sustainable construction methods such as construction waste recycling, erosion control and tree protection
  • Use of resource conservation methods including low-flow fixtures, [Rain Water Harvesting] [etc]
  • Proper training and commissioning of systems to assure efficient operations
